About Us

Our Mission

To encourage people at all levels of photographic expertise, from beginners to experts to enjoy and share in the benefits of a photographic club.  To share any experiences and knowledge we may have to help each other gain and grow in order to achieve and promote photographic excellence.

We are a small friendly club of about 50 people interested in photography.  The experience level of our members range from beginner to expert.  Anyone interested in photography is welcome to visit or join.  Mostly we do digital but film photography is OK.  The emphasis of the club is more on composition than on how the picture was produced or technical aspects.  Most members use a DSLR and photo editing software, but any camera is OK.  Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month.

On the first Tuesday of every month members submit prints and digital images for a competition.  A judge then reviews the images and each entry is given a score.    Near the end of the meeting refreshments are served.  On the third Tuesday of the month, the club usually has an interesting speaker come in to give us a presentation.  These presentations range from how to maintain your camera, to a discussion of HDR.  The club has periodic local field trips that last a few hours but occasionally field trips are overnight.  All the meetings are informal in nature.  Formal minutes of meetings and treasurer reports are handled at separate board meetings so that regular club meetings are all about photography.  Once a year volunteers from the club go to a homeless shelter and photograph those individuals that want to be photographed.  Free prints are then provided back to those people.  There is an annual dinner meeting and awards are presented based on monthly competitions.  Members that can help the club in some way are encouraged to volunteer.

The cost to join is $40.00 for the year for singles and $60.00 for doubles.  Field trips and the annual award dinner are extra, if you choose to participate.  If you would like to join us please complete the Membership Application and bring it to a meeting.

Meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the first and third Tuesday of the month in Sartory Hall, which is part of the Coral Springs Civic Center/Mullins park complex. Click  for a map and directions.
